OH (pause) MY (pause) GOODNESS!
That's what Kendall said last night when I showed her this amazing quilt that her Nena made for her! Nena's friend, Karen, was kind enough to do the actual quilting for us since it is a queen-size quilt--and it is nothing short of stunning! Kendall is getting her "big girl bed" next month and this gorgeous quilt will be her bedspread. She is just beside-herself-excited and insisted on sleeping on top of it in her crib last night. Kendall will have this beautiful heirloom forever and I feel so blessed that my mom was willing to spend the last 4 months of her life creating it!
Basic Grey has always been one of my favorite scrapbook companies, and when they came out with fabric, I knew this quilt had to be made using the "Sultry" line. The pinks, greens and browns are just perfect for this girly-girl's new bed!

Erin, the quilt is sooooo beautiful. Your Mum has put an enormous amount of work into it. It's a huge quilt and will look gorgeous on Kendall's big girl's bed.
I use to be well into quilting but they do take such a long, long time to make. Last year I spent months making a quilt for my son's bed and he hates it. He cries every time I try to put it on his bed - NICE!! It has sort of put me off now.
Love the Basic Grey Fabric, I have also been hunting down the Cosmo Cricket fabric too, no luck so far. Tara xxxx
What a pretty quilt! I bet that it was fun to make.
