I was a bit worried I wouldn't have anything fun to share this week at
Junker Newbie's linky party, but my trip to Savers yesterday proved fruitful! I found some great wooden pieces including a large spoon rack that I am planning to paint and turn into a jewelry holder and a heavy carved wooden bowl. My favorite find, though, is this set of faux bois kitchen canisters! They were $2.99 each, so I paid $12 for the set. I am thinking about painting them yellow with some spray paint for plastic...what are your thoughts? Would you have bought this set and would you paint the pieces or leave them to bask in their retro glory?
Tomorrow I am going to reveal a chair that I painted and reupholstered as a silent auction item for a friend's fund-raiser. Here's a look at the before:
Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Wednesday!

Paint for sure....it'll make them look updated. Good Luck.
I would not have bought them as I've no room on my counter for anything more. I would also paint them to make them pop! Good find!
I probably wouldn't have bought them. I am always scared to paint plastic. Can't wait to see them painted.
I probably wouldn't have bought them but I think they would look great after painting.
For $2 a piece, I probably wouldn't have been able to resist! I would *definitely* paint them!
I love the canisters! I'm still adjusting to the up-cyling, but am doing better at imagining the finished product. I can't wait to see what you do with them! I like the style of the chair, but not the finish, so I'm particularly interested in what you will do with it.

Love the idea of painting them bright yellow...I probably wouldn't have bought them "as is" but then I would have seen someone clever like you paint them yellow and wished I had :) Laurel
Oh yes you can never have enough storage for the lil things and I would definetly paint them!
Mmmm, nope. Forgive me, but I grew up in a 60's-70's groovy kitchen and don't care to go back to that look. But, you might make me eat my words after you paint them! At least you paid less for your "Would you buy this?" entry than I did. I'll probably win the "What were you thinking?" prize. :@
